Charlie Chaplin’s iconic cane, a “Superman” costume and a vintage Christian Dior gown worn by Princess Diana are among Hollywood treasures being sold at auction this weekend.
The “Hollywood Legends” sale also includes earrings worn by Grammy-winning singer Whitney Houston in the 1992 film “Bodyguard,” as well as other items which once belonged to the the star who died in February aged 48.
Clark Gable’s riding jacket from “Gone With The Wind” -- estimated value $10,000-$15,000 -- and Charlton Heston screen robe, staff and tablets from “The Ten Commandments” will go under the hammer too.
Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills will also be selling Richard Gere’s hat from “An Officer and a Gentleman,” as well as a Chaplin suit and a number of the black-and-white icon’s belongings such as his drivers license.
A Superheros section of the sale will include a Christopher Reeve costume from “Superman IV: The Quest for Peace,” estimated at $20-30,000, and a complete Batman costume from “Batman Returns.”
The Whitney Houston items are the first to be sold publicly since her shock death in February -- coincidentally just down the road from the auction house in the nearby Beverly Hilton Hotel.
“This will be, in fact, the first auction of items owned by Whitney Houston that will go on the auction block since she passed away,” Julien’s Auctions Executive Director Martin Nolan told ABC News Radio.
“So the world media -- in fact, everyone -- is curious to know just how collectible she has become,” he added.

Elizabeth Olsen in Cannes: Beautiful in The Row
With CFDA Award nominees for sisters, Elizabeth Olsen's Cannes Film Festival wardrobe is expected to be stellar. The star of Martha Marcy May Marlene did not disappoint as she sailed through her movie's photo call and premiere outfitted in The Row.
Elizabeth looked granny chic--in the most charming way possible--in her daytime attire. Elizabeth kept her breezy embroidered ensemble young, with a hint of her bra peeking through the sheer material. The ankle-length skirt was a nice break from the typical knee-length photo call dresses of late. Her crystal and bow embellished Giuseppe Zanotti sandals were an excellent choice.
Elizabeth's white outfit was only a taste of things to come as the actress looked beautiful on the red carpet for the premiere of Martha Marcy May Marlene. She wore another creation from her sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley, whose refined designs capture sexy-but-not-skin-tight extremely well. The beaded, black tank gave way to a long slinky skirt with a thigh-high slit. Though headbands don't always spell success on the red carpet, Elizabeth wore hers well. A Chanel clutch and Manolo Blahnik heels completed her look.
The black number was certainly a more understated dress than the amazing couture gowns that Elizabeth Olsen's fellow actresses have worn at the film festival, but she looked beautiful nonetheless.
